Are there Dunkin Donuts in Ohio? If not, than I don’t really want to go there.
The leaves are beginning to turn in New England and it should be a beautiful drive through the Berkshires. We are listening to NPR and catching-up on the news of the day. Drudge is reporting that Congressman Mark “LOL” Foley is checking himself into rehab. I can’t wait for the first Barbara Walters interview in a couple months. Picture this- soft lighting and a clean-shaven Mark Foley responding to Barbara Walter’s soft-ball question about his “recovery”:
“I had a severe drinking problem and I had no idea what I was doing. I’ve taken the time to get treatment and in doing so have I’ve learned a lot about myself. Now that I’m off the sauce, I am a new man and because I’m not drinking I’ll be a better man. I am an alcoholic.”
What Mark Foley won’t mention is that he’s a pedophile and that had nothing to do with his drinking problem, if he has one at all.
OK, back to news. We will keep you posted as we head west.
Alex Madorsky, here we come.

Still in Boston on this beautiful New England night. I broke out the fleece for the first time last night as it’s already chilly up here in the Commonwealth.
Today was a long day- we were up at 6:00 AM to meet State Senator Ed Augustus at the Statehouse for an interview. Ed’s a good guy and gave us some insight into the political landscape here in Massachusetts. He also gave us an insiders perspective on the recent healthcare bill that was passed in the Statehouse to cover all Massachusetts residents.
After the interview, we had some breakfast in the Boston Common and then came back to Arty’s house to work. I took a little nap (well, 1.5 hours) as we didn’t get to bed until way too late last night.
We are all preparing for another big day tomorrow- three interviews and we’ll try to finish the Connecticut show.

We have arrived in Rhode Island!
We just ate a huge Portuguese feast at Patty’s parent’s house and now we’re all sitting around doing work on our respective laptops.
We had a really great day in New Haven. As Josh mentioned before we interviewed Tim Tagaris, the Internet Director for the Ned Lamont campaign. He’s wicked smart (I’m in New England so I can say that) and we’ll have his interview posted in the next day or two.
New Haven is a beautiful town and today was perhaps the nicest day I’ve seen all year- perfect temperature with sun and a slight breeze. When the weather is good, I am happy.
The leaves are already starting to change colors up here in New England and we’ve driven by a number of pumpkin patches. It’s definitely fall and I love it.
Tomorrow we’ll spend the day right outside of Providence producing a couple of shows and then tomorrow night we’re scheduled to interview Sheldon Whitehouse, the Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate in Rhode Island. Then, we’ll head to our old stomping ground in Boston for a three day jaunt. We have some great interviews booked up in the Bay State including with a former Democratic nominee for President…any guesses?
Ok, back to work. Hope everyone is having a good night out in TV land.

The DoubleSpeak van rolls on and we’re slowlyh creeping towards New England. We just did an interview with Diane Farrell who’s running against Chris Shays in CT-04. She seems very genuine and down to earth.
Bush was in her district today raising money for Connecticut Republicans so it was a good day for us to be there. She did a press conference which we attended and then we did a brief pull-aside after she answered questions from the media.
We’re headed to New Haven now to interview Nancy DiNardo, Chairwoman for the CT Dems. We are sort of in limbo at the moment because we haven’t heard back from her on an exact location. Hope we don’t get screwed…
Lots of BMWs and Mercedes on the road…ah, Connecticut.
