The Closing Argument
October 22nd, 2008 by Matthew SlutskyNow THIS is a closing argument.
TIME: Is John McCain Supported By Terrorist Supporters? Nah.
October 8th, 2008 by Peter SlutskyTIME’S Michael Scherer writes on Swampland:
This morning John McCain put out a list of 100 former ambassadors who are supporting his campaign. Number two is Lenore Annenberg, the wife of Ambassador William Annenberg, the founder of the Annenberg Institute of Reform, which funded the Annenberg Challenge, which once had two famous board members: former “domestic terrorist” William Ayers and Sen. Barack Obama.
So either we should all be outraged that John McCain is supported by a family who funded a foundation that hired a domestic terrorist, or this whole William Ayers thing is just plain silly. I choose the latter.
The Race Turns Nasty…
October 6th, 2008 by Peter SlutskyWith poll numbers sliding, the McCain campaign has taken up a strategy of distraction. They want to stop discussing the economy and start hammering Obama on his loose ties to Bill Ayers and to his former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
The McCain campaign has made a serious miscalculation in their strategy. They assumed that after the bailout bill passed last week, the markets would bounce back and confidence would be restored. Well, that hasn’t happened, and now their lack of economic focus makes them look out of touch and petty.
Obama’s camp hit back today, releasing this documentary film on John McCain’s involvement in the Keating Five. This is good political strategy, but don’t you all wish we could stick to the issues? As the global economy melts down, I’d rather hear solutions, not just attacks.
In one month from tomorrow, this will all be over. If you live in Virginia or Washington, D.C. – remember that today is the last day to register to vote!
The Dem Ticket
August 24th, 2008 by Peter SlutskyRNC’s Countdown To Nowhere
July 25th, 2008 by Peter SlutskyI just took a screen shot of the Republican National Committee’s website. Notice the countdown clock still reads 925 days, 01 hours, 07 minutes, 00 seconds since Barack Obama has last visited Iraq.
Did the RNC miss something? Wasn’t Obama in Iraq this past week meeting with Iraqi leaders, soldiers and commanders on the ground?
Why hasn’t the RNC changed their countdown clock?

What’s Going On With McCain?
July 2nd, 2008 by Peter SlutskyUp to now, I haven’t really bought into the theory that some have been pushing about McCain being confused. Obviously, I don’t agree with him on many important issues, but I have chalked that up to him being on the other side of the aisle from me. However, this morning he had another one of those “confused” moments on ABC’s Good Morning America and now I’m really starting to get concerned that this pattern of forgetting important moments could really hurt his ability to serve as POTUS.
McCain has clearly stated that he is not an expert on the economy. I’ve heard it many times, you’ve heard it, we’ve all heard it. It’s on video…it’s clearly in the public record. However, McCain has either erased it from his memory, lost it from his memory, or he has decided to just outright fib about past statements he has made. I watched this clip live this morning and I was utterly shocked when he pushed back as he did.
Is John McCain not telling the truth or is he really confused about on the record statements he has made?
UPDATE: MSNBC’s First Read has more.
Special Comment: Ouch
June 13th, 2008 by Peter SlutskyMSNBC’s Keith Olbermann delivered a scathing commentary on John McCain during last night’s broadcast. My jaw almost hit the floor. You can read the transcript here.
