On The Road Again

October 2nd, 2006 by Matthew Slutsky

Day 14
8:14 AM ET.

Are there Dunkin Donuts in Ohio? If not, than I don’t really want to go there.

The leaves are beginning to turn in New England and it should be a beautiful drive through the Berkshires. We are listening to NPR and catching-up on the news of the day. Drudge is reporting that Congressman Mark “LOL” Foley is checking himself into rehab. I can’t wait for the first Barbara Walters interview in a couple months. Picture this- soft lighting and a clean-shaven Mark Foley responding to Barbara Walter’s soft-ball question about his “recovery”:

“I had a severe drinking problem and I had no idea what I was doing. I’ve taken the time to get treatment and in doing so have I’ve learned a lot about myself. Now that I’m off the sauce, I am a new man and because I’m not drinking I’ll be a better man. I am an alcoholic.”

What Mark Foley won’t mention is that he’s a pedophile and that had nothing to do with his drinking problem, if he has one at all.

Sad.

OK, back to news. We will keep you posted as we head west.

Alex Madorsky, here we come.

A Shining Light Up On The ‘Hill’

Dunkin Donuts
Are you a resident of Washington, D.C.? If you are, you’ll understand what I mean when I say, where are the Dunkin Donuts?

Growing up in the Northeast region of this great land I call America, you see the shimmering orange and purple everywhere. I believe there might be one or two small Dunkin Donuts in D.C., but they are off the beaten-path and very lightly trafficked.

Well, my friends, do I have good news for you! Come Monday morning, all of the pain and anguish of our Dunkin Donuts-less lives will change. That’s right; Dunkin Donuts is having a grand opening at 6am on Monday morning in Eastern Market.

8th St. and Pennsylvania Ave., SE.

“And out of this long political darkness a brighter day will come”

-Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), Keynote Speech – Democratic National Convention, July 27, 2004

See you bright and early Monday morning! I’ll be the giddy guy with the bakers dozen. Have a great weekend!
